Another good time had by all in the record books for the annual ride. A little snow didn't deter any relic riders!
BIG thanks to all that helped to make the day run smoothly.
Check out the photos and the article on ValleyBiz.
We have a date! Let's hope the weather cooperates!
The Relic ride will now be on Sunday, March 16, same time, same place. Hopefully this bought you 2 weeks to get the ole girl running... if not hop on your current sled and come out anyway.
Come enjoy good conversation, good food, and a great showcase of old machines!

Due to COLD ok, frigid weather, the Relic Ride has been postponed. Those ole' girls wouldn't appreciate running in the forecasted weather! Stay tuned, we will let you know the new date asap!

Caution: Swan Valley Sport Fish Enhancement will be having Highways plow off the Beaver Lake road up to Beaver Lake. The are not plowing to the bottom and will leave some snow for sledders.
Signs will be up at both ends for warning of traffic going in and out. They will be working there for about a week.
Use extreme caution in this area as there will be low snow conditions and vehicles using the road in both directions.

We're in the final stretch... Only 5 more days to work on the ole' girl! Get her polished up and ready to roll. The ride is on Saturday!
Even if you don't have a pre-1990 sled come out to have a look and a bite to eat. Great deep-fried turkey on a bun (ask Sandra how good it is!), hot dogs, hot chocolate and great conversations! See you there!
Trails are in good shape, if only we would get a break on the temperatures... wind chill warnings again!

Happy Valentines! Lots of sledders must have asked for snow for Valentines, cause it's coming down! And beautiful weather for the weekend to boot... Fab-u-lous riding!
If you don't have your old relic in tip-top shape, what are you waiting for?
The 7th Annual Relic Ride is fast approaching. Get the ol' girl running and head to the shack on March 1st. Come out and enjoy turkey on a bun and view the old sleds. Even if you don't have one, come out to have a look!

Someone or several some ones thought it would be "fun(?)" to run down multiple trail signs on ditch road. Not only are you inconsiderate, but you are jeopardizing the safety of snowmobilers. If anyone has information on this or any other vandalism to signs/shacks please contact our club president, Dave Bobick or any other club member.
A caution or stop sign on a snowmobile trail could save a life, and that is why our club members spend a good part of the snowmobile season fixing/replacing signs that have been run down or removed by thoughtless people.
The signs along the trails help keep snowmobilers safe. Our club spends a lot of time and money on the signs. The absence of signs pose a danger to snowmobilers as well as motorists who might be forced to swerve to avoid hitting a snowmobiler that doesn't stop at a crossing due to a missing stop sign. Or a snowmobiler misses an important caution due to a rundown or stolen sign...
Please ride safe and if you see a fallen or leaning sign take a minute to upright it. It will help keep our trails safe for all!
Trails have been VERY wind blown this week, again good thing for bush trails! Groomer guy has been out trying to make the best of it, hopefully the wind stays down today so trails can be ready for the weekend...
Benito Elks Poker Derby taking place tomorrow. Registration at the arena.

So the trails are smooth... well kinda... they have been groomed as great as usual, but that darn wind just won't stop!!! so have caution on open areas and some river crossings are flooding.
Mr. Groundhog might see his shadow tomorrow, but with the wind we've been having, he prob won't even want to poke his nose out!
Its a great sports weekend: Riding all weekend and finishing it off in front of a buddies tv watching the super bowl! Have a good one!

We didn’t groom this week due to high winds all week. Did some last week and the week before. Because of these crazy high winds that really means nothing now. However, all trails are open with low snow cover. Head to the hills... the trails with bush cover are looking ok...

We did get some snow in this last go round. Yeah! Groomer guy has been smoothing out those trails getting them ready. Trail markers have been set up almost everywhere. Fingers crossed that next week is a go for opening the trails... We'll keep you posted!
Still not much snow, but groomer guy is trying to keep as much of it on the trails as possible. They have been out trying to get a base done on all trails.
How do we like the -45 weather... Hope that forecast for snow is accurate. It will bring the warmer weather and snow! By last year's standard we are a month behind on the miles. Hopefully we get snow and can get ripp'n...
So so sad... we have a lack of snow up here in Swan Valley. Mother Nature has forgot about us... boo hoo... She keeps teasing us with a skiff then blows it all away.
Some trails are marked, and groomer guy has been out the past couple days packing the trails so if the big snow comes we will be ready! Just a reminder that all trails are currently closed. If you are traveling on them, you are doing so at your own risk.
Keep wishing for that big snow fall!!!
If you remember at the end of last year there was BIG news to share...
We got a new groomer!
Bigger and better. Thanks to all the hard work from some club members it is ready to roll and waiting for snow!
